Convert TD Bank bank statement PDF to Excel

TD Bank PDFs vary by account, but a typical cycle states a period, a beginning balance, and posted activity with a description that may wrap. Some rows print the date as month and day without a year. GetBankExcel reads the statement period first and assigns the year that falls inside that window. A December-to-January statement can therefore keep December rows in the old year and January rows in the new one.

The export uses ISO dates so the year is explicit even when the PDF left it off. Amounts are plain decimals. If you open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets, the Amount column should sum without stripping currency symbols, because there are none. The Excel workbook stores dates and amounts as typed cells rather than text.

TD Bank does not provide this converter and has not certified it. If the period cannot be read, dates without a year cannot be inferred and those rows are flagged. That is a better outcome than a silent wrong year. You can preview before you create an account. Downloading the free daily file asks for an email magic link so the once-a-day limit can be applied to the address and the device.

Questions

What if the year is missing?

It is taken from the statement period when that period can be read. Otherwise the row is marked for review.

Why an email for the free file?

The free tier is one statement a day, up to five pages, per email and per device. The magic link is how that limit is enforced.
